Aesculapian Rat Snake
(E. longissima)
Amazing rat snakes to work with and great colors, these pictures do not do them justice. Sorry for the darkness, they actually have an amazing green and bluish coloration to them. These rat snakes have a long historical background and a lot of myths associated with them. They were once considered sacred by the ancient Greeks and Romans, named after Asclepius the god of medicine. The animals below were imported by myself and are from a Switzerland locality.
